As it would appear that nobody was forthcoming to sort the venues for next year i have take the bull by the horns and started to book some.With booking the venues for almost the last 5 years with Mick i know 2 things one if you dont get in early you just dont get the dates and 2 if you book this far out you tend to get this years price before any increase.So far i have booked up to July 2011 with a few of those i am just waiting for confirmations back.Richard will of course choose his captains day for August and then i will look at September and October.
Just to remind those who havent already done so could you please sign up for howley as soon as you can.The week the final numbers are due i am busy at work so if you could get them in now that would help.Just one other thing Howley have reminded me they have quite a strict mobile phone policy in that none are to be used in the clubhouse or course.They do have a telephone room that can be used in the clubhouse in emergencies could we please adhere to this to avoid embarrassment. Hi Martin, There were 5 x 2's club, the missing ones being G.Cousins and J.Page. I really enjoyed the day, awesome course just too good for my mediocre golf. Hi All Some of you may be aware that for every 8th person that plays at forest pines we get a free place.We currently have 20 people down to play in the Haigh Trophy and it would grately help the society if we could make that 3rd free place.The main reason for this is that the society is chipping in quite a large amount per person for us to play this event. Many thanks from a proud Captain on a superb win for the Morton Team. Congratulations to Colin for finishing 2nd individually and also claiming the nearest pin in 2 prize. James Page finished 3rd individually but had to settle for a bottle of Chartreuse. Robert Dobson and John Kaye also walked away with bottles of wine. Anybody want to swap for 3 Ultra yellow balls?

I have advised headingley of the final numbers they have advised me that whilst jacket and tie is not required for evening meal all golfers are expected to change for the evening meal.
If anyone is in touch with Richard Tanner or Graham Blenkinsop could you ask them to let me know if the want to go to headingley.I have contacted everyone else and we could do with the numbers as we are 12 so far and that includes a guest ! Martin
